Contribute to such an important endeavor. Warren Theology. . . Providing Perspective
At Warren, we take our work in theological inquiry seriously. Though we are very proud of our work so far, we are only getting started. Consider how you can participate in this effort.
Phase 1: Consistent Content
This is the phase where our team is right now. Our goal is to consistently provide quality journal articles that explore enriching theological concepts that are relevant to today’s world. We will continue to provide this service and even offer more types of content. In the future, look for other forms of theological content to be published in our journal: survey results, more interviews, debates, book reviews, biblical commentaries, and so much more.
Phase 2: Community Research
After establishing a strong journal, our next step will be to start the Warren Foundation. In addition to a continued quarterly journal, the first venture of the Foundation will be “The Local Church History Project.” This effort will be ecclesiastical in nature. In Christian studies, there is a great amount of research available in American Christian history but not so much about local church history. But there is a demand. Many churches and parachurch organizations are seeing a fading older generation and a great deal of Christian history fading with it. Already, in fact, Warren is engaging with church leaders to compile research on historic churches and influential pastors from the 20th century before that information is lost forever. The Local Church History Project would be a valuable resource to local churches, and in the near future, we hope to expand this service to hundreds of communities across the U. S. so that pastors, scholars, seminarians, and the like can gain knowledge of impactful Christian activity and inquiry that has taken place in their towns, cities, and regions.
Phase 3: Conferences
The Warren Foundation will host conferences, panels, and symposiums where scholars can make presentations and engage in discussions about society’s most pressing issues and ways theological inquiry can meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Our first panels will be virtual, but as the Foundation progresses, we hope to see large, in-person conferences featuring a diverse league of some of the world’s most insightful theologians. At this present time, Warren is in the planning stages with small Bible colleges to host such conferences on issues relevant to today’s church.
Phase 4: Contributions
The vision for the Warren Foundation is to be one of the most generous Christian organizations in our time. We want to invest in the theologians of tomorrow through scholarships. We want to fund quality research by awarding grants and fellowships. We look to be a resource for other theological projects across the nation. We hope to be the leading force for the promotion of a more diverse Christian scholarship.
